Various forms of fraud are becoming more and more commonplace as criminal grow more technically savvy. One of these common frauds involves the issuance of a fake check or money order.
Fake checks or money orders can be issued by a fraudster under a variety of guises. The fraudster might:
1. claim that you won a foreign lottery
2. provide a work from home opportunity
3. claim to be a government official with an unclaimed inheritance for you
4. claim to be in distress
5. offer to pay more than the asking price for an item you are selling
