A PACIFIC STORM WILL REACH SOUTHERN IDAHO AS EARLY AS THIS COMING SATURDAY
AFTERNOON. THIS STORM IS EXPECTED TO BRING QUITE A BIT OF MOISTURE
WHEN IT ARRIVES FULL-FORCE ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY
MONDAY MORNING. WHILE IT SHOULD FIRST BRING RAIN TO MOST
ELEVATIONS ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING...COLD AIR WILL
TURN THE PRECIPITATION FROM RAIN TO SNOW AT ELEVATIONS ABOVE 6000
FEET. HEAVIEST ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED IN THE SAWTOOTH
RANGE...THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE WOOD RIVER BASIN...AND THE THE
IDAHO WASATCH RANGE. STORM TOTALS ABOVE THE 6000 FT ELEVATION
COULD BE AS MUCH AS A FOOT OVER THE 48 HOUR PERIOD...THOUGH MOST
LOCATIONS SHOULD EXPERIENCE LIGHTER AMOUNTS...IN THE 2 TO 10 INCH
RANGE.
FOR ELEVATIONS BELOW 6000 FEET...EXPECT MOSTLY RAIN...HEAVY AT
TIMES ON SUNDAY NIGHT. THIS COULD GENERATE DEBRIS FLOWS IN AREAS
BURNED BY WILDFIRE AND URBAN STREET FLOODING IN TOWNS AND CITIES
OF EASTERN IDAHO.
FINALLY...THE STORM SHOULD BRING STRONG WIND SUNDAY NIGHT AND
MONDAY. *SUSTAINED WIND IN EXCESS OF 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 55 MPH
ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM.*
ONCE THE MAIN STORM HAS PASSED THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON...SMALLER
