Tornado Watch in effect for VanZandt County area thru 10:00 PM. -National Weather Service. See email for details.

National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for VanZandt County until 10:00 PM

A DRYLINE HAS SURGED INTO WESTERN PORTIONS OF NORTH TEXAS...AND
WILL MAKE SOME ADDITIONAL PROGRESS TO THE EAST EARLY THIS
AFTERNOON. HUMID AIR WILL REMAIN IN PLACE IN AREAS GENERALLY EAST
OF THE I-35 CORRIDOR. AT MIDDAY...CONVECTION BEGAN TO RAPIDLY
DEVELOP IN KAUFMAN AND VAN ZANDT COUNTIES. ADDITIONAL DEVELOPMENT
IS LIKELY THIS AFTERNOON EAST OF THE DRYLINE...WHERE CONSIDERABLE
INSTABILITY IS IN PLACE. ANY STORMS THAT DEVELOP COULD QUICKLY
BECOME SEVERE...WITH DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL. ALTHOUGH THE
TORNADO THREAT HAS BEEN REDUCED SINCE YESTERDAY...TORNADIC
SUPERCELLS ARE POSSIBLE.

Remember... A TORNADO WATCH only indicates the POTENTIAL for severe or damaging weather conditions.

If a tornado is spotted take shelter in a sturdy location immediately away from windows.
