New officer sworn in for Thurmont
Officer Joshua Stackhouse was hired in July 2010. He has now completed all required training to be a certified police officer in Maryland and was sworn in Monday evening 11/1/2010 by Mayor Burns. Officer Stackhouse was raised in York County Pennsylvania and previously attended a police academy in Harrisburg. He was the youngest person in this academy and received the “Most Inspirational Award” at graduation. At age 21 he started his law enforcement career with Franklin County Pennsylvania and was so employed prior to transferring to the Thurmont Police Department.
