WHO: Sheriff Lee Baca, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department; Supervisor Mark Ridley Thomas, Los Angeles County, 2nd District; Mayor Harold Hofmann, City of Lawndale; State Assemblyman Mike Davis, 48th District; Director Gail Farber, Los Angeles County Department of Public Works; and ABC7 Eyewitness News Reporter Leo Stallworth.
WHAT: Sheriff Baca will announce the grand opening of the South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station. This state-of-the-art facility will replace the original Lennox Station, which served the community of South Los Angeles for more than fifty years. There will be several exhibits on display from specialized units such as; Aero Bureau, Special Enforcement Bureau, K-9 Detail, Communications and Fleet Management Bureau, Arson/Explosives Detail and Mounted Posse. Entertainment will be provided by South Los Angeles Station’s Youth Athletic League, the Washington High School Marching Band with performances by the Ballet-Folklorico and a live karate presentation.
