The Livermore Police Department is releasing information about a recent crime that occurred in the city.
At 0414 hours, Officers responded to Kohls Department Store regarding an alarm activation. An Officer was patrolling the area and spotted a truck leaving the lot at a high rate of speed. The Officer attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver sped off E/B on Las Positas Rd. A short pursuit was initiated and the driver came to a stop on Las Positas Rd at Mines Rd. The driver, Livermore resident Brandon Burchfield, was detained pending further investigation. Officers discovered that the east side door to Kohls was pried open and a jewelry display case had been removed. Pry bars and a jewelry display case were recovered from the suspect’s vehicle. Store surveillance video showed Burchfield entering the store and committing the burglary.
