The Livermore Police Department is releasing information about a recent crime/crime activity within the city.
At 0040 hours, an employee working at 2021 Las Positas Ct, called to report that he heard footsteps on the roof of the building. Officers responded to the scene to establish a perimeter around this very large business complex. As Officers were getting into position, an officer saw a subject wearing a red hoodie sweatshirt running W/B through the parking lot from the west end of the building. The suspect appeared to have jumped a fence and made it into the Paseo Laguna Seco Apartment Complex. The officers searched the surrounding business complex and located a suspect hiding in the area next to suite 101. The suspect (Marcus Ellis 4-10-68) out of Benicia was detained pending further investigation. LPFD responded with a ladder and Officers climbed onto the roof to conduct a security check. Once on the roof, Officers found climbing gear, tools, and a two way radio. In addition, the suspect(s) had cut approximately 500 feet of cooper air conditioning pipe and placed it into a pile to be removed off the roof. Ellis was taken into custody.
