Welfare Check leads to Drug Arrest
On November 11, 2010 at approximately 2213 hrs., Thurmont Police Officers checked the welfare of a subject who was slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle while parked at the gas pumps of the Sheetz Store in Thurmont. Upon contacting the individual, who was later identified as: Eric J. Marshall, age 32, of Myersville Maryland, Mr. Marshall advised the officers that there were outstanding warrants for his arrest. The officers detained Mr. Marshall and verified that there were numerous outstanding warrants for his arrest through: Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, Frederick City Police, and Montgomery County Police Department. Upon Mr. Marshall’s exit from his vehicle, the officers observed a syringe containing a liquid. Further search of the vehicle and a search of Mr. Marshall yielded numerous items of CDS paraphernalia, with several items containing CDS residue. Due to his poor health condition at the time of his arrest, Mr. Marshall was transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment. Upon his release from FMH, Mr. Marshall was transported to Central Booking where he was served the warrants and the following charges:
Possession of CDS (Marijuana), Possession of CDS (Crack/Cocaine), Possession of CDS (Oxycontin), 3 counts of Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. The arresting officers were: Sgt. Mcloughlin, OFC Fitzgerald, and Officer Stackhouse.
