The Van Police Department is awarded for the third year in a row the National Night Out Award for cities under 15,000 residents. What an awesome display of support from our community to place in a catagory this size. Thank you to the Fire Department, the City of Van, the Van High School, all of the local participants and local agencies involved for making this happen.

This event has allowed the police department to come along side of the community to build a strong partnership and friendships that will last a lifetime. Chief Smith would like to thank the local block captains that hosted parties across the city, the Van Fire Deparment for their outstanding leadership and commitment to serve, the Van Journalism Team for their outstanding work that helped to make this possible, the Mayor and City Council for continuing to support this project, Van Brookshires for supporting the police department, and numerous others that continue to show support for the community and the officers in Van. Thank you again.

We look forward to another successful year as we schedule activities for the summer to continue to promote National Night Out.
