THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN POCATELLO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 5 AM MST MONDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 6 TO 16 INCHES WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS ABOVE 6000 FEET.
* TIMING: LIGHT SNOW WILL BEGIN LATER TODAY. HEAVIER SNOWFALL WILL OCCUR SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT.
* LOCATIONS INCLUDE: MONTPELIER...GEORGETOWN...PARIS... GEORGETOWN SUMMIT...BORDER SUMMIT AND BEAR LAKE.
* IMPACTS: SNOW ALONG WITH GUSTY WINDS WILL PRODUCE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW...AS WELL AS REDUCED VISIBILITIES. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL BE ON SUNDAY WITH SUSTAINED WINDS OF 15 TO 20 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS AT TIMES.
