Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 pm tonight until noon on Tuesday. Be prepared for slippery roads.

***Belle Plaine snow ordinance anticipated to be in effect. Please move your vehicles from the roadway until they are plowed curb to curb.

The NWS in Twin Cities/Chanhassen has issued a winter weather advisory for snow and blowing snow, which is in effect from 6 pm this evening to noon cst Tuesday.

Rain or a rain snow mix is expected across east central and south central Minnesota through the evening hours. The rain will switch over to all snow later this evening over east central Minnesota later this evening. In Wisconsin, the rain will convert to all snow later tonight or early Tuesday morning. Total snow amounts will range from one to two inches from far south central Minnesota, to as much as four to five inches near from Redwood Falls to Mora.

All snow is expected in the St. Cloud and Mankato areas by around 10pm, the Twin Cities should make the transition from rain to snow around midnight, and finally over in the Eau Claire area by around 7 am Tuesday morning. At this time it is looking like 3 to 6 inches is possible across central and east central MN (including the Twin Cities metro).

Other impacts, blowing and drifting snow is expected across the Minnesota advisory area along associated with winds between 15 and 25 mph staring late tonight and extending into Tuesday.

A winter weather advisory means periods of snow, sleet or blowing snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
