The Thurmont Police Department is currently investigating a series of crimes that have occurred since October 24th. There were 8 reported ATTEMPTED Burglaries, most occurring in the Gateway Neighborhood. There were 2 successful burgarlies in this same area. There were 3 reported arsons, 2 occurring on the Trolley Trail where a bush was set on fire, and the other was a fence post at a residence in the Gateway neighborhood. More recently, there was a burglary at the Mountaingate Restaurant, 2 burglaries at the Cozy Motel office, and 1 burglary at the Direct to You service station. Anyone with information pertaining to these crimes should contact the Thurmont Police Department.
