THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND ICE...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM
WEDNESDAY TO 4 PM EST THURSDAY.
* PRECIPITATION TYPE: SNOW CHANGING TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN.
* ACCUMULATIONS: SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE FROM 1 TO 4 INCHES.
ICE ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE ONE TENTH OF AN INCH OR LESS.
* TIMING: SNOW WILL BEGIN LATE WEDNESDAY EVENING ALONG THE TUG
FORK BASIN AND EARLY WEDNESDAY NIGHT FOR THE INTERSTATE 64
CORRIDOR. THE TRANSITION TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WILL OCCUR
WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY.
* IMPACTS: SNOW AND ICE WILL CAUSE ROADS TO BECOME SLICK AND
CREATE HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. ICE ACCUMULATION MAY CAUSE
SMALL BRANCHES TO BREAK AND CAUSE POWER OUTAGES.
