Today we shut off twenty of your neighbors water service at their customer shut off valves due to busted water pipes. Your customer shut off valve is located under a green plastic lid within three inches of your water meter. Normally it’s between the meter box and the home. It could be covered slightly with grass, mulch or dirt. You will find a quarter turn plastic or brass valve under the green lid. This will shut water off to the property. There is one for every metered service on the island. Please help us help you and your neighbors. If you see a busted water pipe at a neighbor’s property please try and locate their customer shut off valve and shut it off for them. They will be grateful and so will we. Then notify them if you have their contact information. If you can not get water shut off please call our dispatch number at 883-3931 if it’s after hours or Town Hall during normal business hours at 883-5733.
