*NEW*Winter Storm Warning in effect from 3pm today until 9am Thursday. Snow Emergency Anticipated. Off street parking

The national weather service in twin cities/chanhassen has now issued a winter storm warning for heavy snowfall...which is in effect from 3 pm this afternoon to 9 am cst Thursday. The winter weather advisory is no longer in effect.

The NWS is expecting that periods of light snow this afternoon will give way to steady snow during the evening hours with the most significant snowfall expected from 7 pm this evening through 7 am Thursday. The snow accumulation has been revised to 5 to 8 inches.

A winter storm warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. If you must travel...keep an extra flashlight...food...and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency
