On December 15, 2010, after a lengthy investigation and multiple interviews, Cypress Police Detectives arrested Steven NMN Griego for several counts of sexual assault and burglary.

In September of 2010, it was reported to the police department that the suspect had sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy three times over the course of the summer months of 2007. The victim eventually revealed the assaults to his family members after concealing it for three years. These incidents occurred against the victim’s will and at two separate locations, one being in the City of Cypress.

Cypress detectives are concerned that this victim is not the only victim and are asking for anyone with additional information or information about other victims to call (714) 229-6631.

Mr. Griego was booked into the Cypress City Jail and eventually transferred to the Orange County Jail where he was being held on bail. He was booked for PC 288a(c)(1) – Oral Copulation with a person under 14 years, PC 288(a) – Lewd and Lascivious Act with a child under 14 years, and PC 459 – Burglary. His arraignment is tentatively scheduled for Friday, 12-17-10, at the West Justice Center.
