Serious injury collision in Livermore
FACTUAL INFORMATION:
The Livermore Police Department received a call of an automobile versus pedestrian collision on 12-16-10 at 1752 hrs. Responding officers found that a 33 year old female Livermore resident had been crossing Fourth St in the marked crosswalk at South âKâ St. when she was struck by a Toyota Sequoia that was traveling eastbound on Fourth St. An acquaintance who had been walking with the victim was able to avoid being hit.
The pedestrian was transported to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley and at the time of this press release she was being treated for serious injuries.
The driver of the Toyota was a 72 year old Livermore resident. The driver was cooperative with investigators and released after he provided a statement. There is no indication at this time that alcohol or drugs played a part in this collision.
Several witnesses to the collision remained on the scene assisting the victim and provided investigators with details of the collision.
