A Special Bulletin from the Borough of Magnolia Office of Emergency Management...
BOROUGH OF MAGNOLIA DECLARES LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY DUE TO WINER STORM..Please stay off roads unless it is absolutely necessary.
First major winter storm… A Near-blizzard is expected to drop between six to 12 inches of snow, with poor visibility and drifting. The Borough Office of Emergency Management and the Department of Public Works is working along with county and state officials and agencies in dealing with the emergency. The County of Camden and the State of New Jersey has also issued states of emergency as well.
It is advised that any motorists who must venture out to drive with caution and to leave six car lengths between themselves and other vehicles. Speed limits are greatly reduced on all roads. With the high winds and heavy snow, visibility is very limited and there is drifting. Snow is expected to end around midnight, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly. Additionally, residents should do their best to not park their vehicles on Borough Streets during this time, when possible, to assist in making plowing easier for the Borough Public Works Department. The Magnolia Office of Emergency Management is in constant content contact with Camden County Emergency Management Officials and staying on top of the situation throughout the storm and the state of emergency.
Please be alert and safe during the storm. As further information is available, information will be shared via this alert system and the Borough website at www.magnolia-nj.org.
