Internet Crime Complaint Center Available to the Public
The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). Its mission is to serve as a conduit to receive, develop, and refer criminal complaints regarding cyber crime. IC3 has developed direct contacts with industry representatives such as online retailers, financial institutions, Internet service providers, and parcel delivery companies to assist in increasing the flow of information to all parties involved with cyber crime.
Complaints can be submitted at http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx by anyone who believes they are a victim of Internet crime, or is aware of an attempted Internet crime. Complaints can also be filed by a third party such as a law enforcement officer. Once a complaint is filed, trained analysts will review and research each complaint, disseminating information to the appropriate federal, state, local, or international law enforcement or regulatory agencies for criminal, civil, or administrative action, as appropriate.
