Hunters remove your rifles from the rack when your vehicle is parked at home and you are not hunting. 
The Albany Police Department is seeing an increase in weapons being stolen in their Entering Automobile cases. Specifically, rifles that are in plan view on racks. So, Detectives are urging hunters to remove weapons from truck rifle racks when they are parked at home and are not being used. Here are a few safety tips to keep in mind when securing your weapon:

• Store firearms unloaded and locked.
• Use a firearm safe, locked box, trigger or chamber lock to store firearms.
• Store and lock ammunition in a separate place.
