UPDATE and Correction on Missing Hogan Children and Mother 
It was CHP officers, not LAPD officers, who noticed the red van driving near Ocean Boulevard and PCH around 10:30 AM this morning. The CHP officers stopped the van and verified the occupants were the Hogan children and their mother. The family also had a puppy with them.
The 3 children appeared to be in relatively good health. They will be handed over to social workers from the LA County Department of Children and Family Services, who will detain the children under the Georgia protective order until the children can be returned to their home state.
An LAPD mental evaluation team will speak with Carolyn Hogan to ensure she is able to care for herself. Hogan is not facing any charges in California, and LAPD knows of no warrants for her arrest in Georgia. She will be free to go with her van once detectives are able to verify all the necessary facts.
