Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in the sexual assault of a young boy on Saturday evening (01/08/11) at about 6:30PM, in Belvedere Park, 4914 E. Cesar Chavez Ave., Los Angeles CA, 90023.

The victim, male seven years old, was attending a soccer game with his family. He went to use the public restroom at Belvedere Park. The suspect entered the bathroom, grabbed the victim, took him into a bathroom stall where he sexually assaulted him. The victim was unable to provide investigators with detailed description of the suspect. The limited information available indicates that the suspect is either an older male Hispanic teenager or younger adult wearing a red coat and red shirt with white and black shoes.

Anyone who saw a man matching the description acting suspiciously or loitering around the bathrooms is urged to call the Sheriff’s Department, East Los Angeles Station, Special Victims Bureau detectives are working closely with deputies from East Los Angeles Station and the Sheriff’s Parks Bureau to locate and apprehend the suspect.
