A Winter Storm Watch has been issued by the NWS for Northern Westchester including the North Castle Area
The National Weather Service, latest forecast models show potential weather impacts covering 3 consecutive rush hours: Tue morning, Tue evening, and Wed morning.
• Snow should develop tonight from southwest to northeast mainly after midnight. As warm air begins to work in aloft, the snow will mix with freezing rain and possibly sleet, before changing to freezing rain and then rain.
• The rain and freezing rain could mix with snow before ending Wednesday morning. The area impacted by freezing rain likely will expand across interior portions Tuesday Night as temperatures fall below freezing there before the precipitation ends.
• By around sunrise Tuesday morning expect up to an inch of snow across Long Island and Southeastern CT, 1-2" across the NYC Metro, and 1-3" elsewhere. Some additional snow fall is possible across interior regions before the changeover to freezing rain.
A Winter Weather Advisory likely will be issued for most or all of the remainder of the area later today, depending on forecaster confidence on impacts.
Northern Westchester - Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Late tonight through late Tuesday Night Forecast for White Plains:
Tonight: Snow, mainly after 3am. Low around 22. East wind between 3 and 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Tuesday: Snow and freezing rain before noon, then rain and snow between noon and 3pm, then rain after 3pm. High near 34. East wind between 8 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of 0.1 to 0.2 of an inch possible. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Tuesday Night: Rain likely, mainly before 9pm. Cloudy, with a low around 33. North wind between 8 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Wednesday: A chance of rain and snow before noon, then a slight chance of rain between noon and 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. West wind between 7 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 21.
Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 30.
Thursday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Friday: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Residents should avoid travel during this or any winter storm, even a short trip could be problematic and unsafe
Residents are reminded of the Town Snow Removal Ordinance and asked to refrain from parking on the town roadways at any hour during this storm. This will assist the Town Highway Department in clearing the roadways and keeping them open for emergency vehicles.
All North Castle residents should prepare for the possibility of power outages during this time period extending into the overnight and until the posted NWS expiration date and time.
Residents experienceing an interuption in electrical service should contact Con Edison Directly at 1-800 75CONED to report their outage. All effected residents should call Con Edison even if the outage was reported by their neighbor.
The North Castle Office of Emergency Management is monitoring this storm and may activate the EOC if required to deal with situations arising from it.
