The Town of Beloit Police Department is pleased to announce that Laura Palmer has been appointed Acting Chief of Police due to John Wilson’s retirement. Palmer is honored by the trust the Town Board has placed in her, and is committed to working with the Board, the Department, and the citizens to improve service to the community.
Palmer accepted the position of Police Sgt. for the Town in August, 2010. She has over 23 years of police experience, with 12 years in supervision. She has a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from UW-Platteville, and a bachelor’s degree in business management. She is a graduate of the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command, and has had extensive training in police supervision and operations.
