SUBJECT: Citizen’s Police Academy
The Albany Police Department is now accepting applications for the 24th session of the Citizens Police Academy.
Twelve weekly, two hour sessions, will begin on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 and will continue until Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Class times are from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Citizens will be given an opportunity to learn about a variety of topics.
In addition, there will be opportunities to experience use of force situations through the firearms simulator, and to ride-along with an officer on patrol.
Anyone interested in participating in the Albany Police Department’s Citizens Academy can go to the City’s website to pre-register by downloading an application. The program is free and open to the public.
