A Large Winter Storm Is Forecast Tuesday And Wednesday of this week. This strom will arrive in North Castle in two separate and distinct waves or bands of weather and precipitation. THis storm will effect multiple commutes.
A Winter Storm Watch In Effect From Tuesday Morning Through Wednesday Evening
* Locations...Portions Of...Southern Connecticut...The Lower Hudson Valley And Northeast New Jersey.
* Hazards...Snow Tuesday...Snow...Sleet And Freezing Rain Wednesday.
* Accumulations...5 To 9 Inches Of Snow Accumulation...And Up To A Half An Inch Of Ice Accumulation By Late Wednesday.
* Timing...Snow Begins Around Sunrise Tuesday. Light Snow And Sleet Continues Much Of Tuesday And Tuesday Night. A Wintry Mix Of Snow...Sleet And Freezing Rain Is Expected Wednesday. This Is When The Heaviest Precipitation Will Occur.
* Impacts...Travel Will Be Impacted Tuesday And Wednesday.
Snow And Ice Accumulations Will Make For Dangerous Travel, in addition heavy Ice Accumulations Could Knock Down Tree Limbs And Power Lines. Residents are urged to prepare for the possibility of power outages.
Residents with heavily snow covered roofs, especially flat roofs or decks should monitor these conditions, and take action in the form of clearance activity.
This condtions may present a collapse hazard due to the heavy weight of the snow already in place as well as the addition of this new heavy wet snow that is forecast.
Only remove snow from roofs if you can do so safely and without risk to yourself or others.

Residents should avoid travel during this or any winter storm, even a short trip could be problematic and unsafe
Residents are reminded of the Town Snow Removal Ordinance and asked to refrain from parking on the town roadways at any hour during this storm. This will assist the Town Highway Department in clearing the roadways and keeping them open for emergency vehicles.
All North Castle residents should prepare for the possibility of power outages during this time period extending into the overnight and until the posted NWS expiration date and time.
Residents experienceing an interuption in electrical service should contact Con Edison Directly at 1-800 75CONED to report their outage. All effected residents should call Con Edison even if the outage was reported by their neighbor.
The North Castle Office of Emergency Management is monitoring this storm and will staff the EOC at a level 3 condition based on the current weather forecast begining at 19:00 Hours today.
