Brief Narrative of Incident:
On January 30, 2011, at approximately 12:16 a.m., Cypress Police officers were dispatched to the Peacock Motel, 5662 Lincoln Avenue, regarding a disturbance where a female could be heard screaming and crying. A suspect vehicle involved in this incident was described as a Nissan Altima. As officers arrived in the area, the suspect vehicle was spotted leaving the motel parking lot at a high rate of speed. The vehicle stopped in the area of Valley View Street and Lemon Avenue. One of the male suspects fled from the vehicle. Officers on the ground were assisted by the Orange County Sheriff’s Air Support Unit and its infrared camera equipment. The Air Support Unit located the outstanding suspect hiding in the nearby yard of an apartment building. Four subjects were detained and subsequently arrested for robbery. The stolen property was recovered in the suspect vehicle and along the escape path of the subject that fled on foot. One of the suspects was known to the victim from a prior relationship. The four suspects were arrested on a variety of charges stemming from robbery, criminal conspiracy, burglary, narcotics charges, and resisting arrest. Additionally, one of the subjects (Jeffrey Clayton) was found to be on parole and a “hold” was placed on him. All four subjects were booked at the Cypress City Jail and later transported to the Orange County Jail, to await arraignment.
