Winter storm warning for the Borough of Catasauqua. Significant amounts of ice and snow possible.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the Borough of Catasauqua. The Catasauqua Fire Department and the Catasauqua Emergency Management Agency are urging residents to keep fire hydrants clear of ice and snow.
When the snow arrives, the Catasauqua Public Works Department will be busy clearing roadways and emergency officials will be busy responding to fire and medical emergencies. We rely on residents to take a moment while they are shoveling their driveways or digging out their vehicles, to take a few extra minutes to clear any nearby fire hydrants. This assistance could save time, property and lives in an emergency. The area around the hydrant should be clear making it visible and accessible from the street. It is also a good idea to make sure your address is visible from the street as well. Residents should monitor local radio and television stations in the event a "Snow Emergency" is declared. A "Snow Emergency" may restrict parking in your neighborhood to assist public works in clearing roadways of snow.
