The Elizabeth Fire Department asks that residents please not cover fire hydrants with snow during the winter season.
If you have a fire hydrant in front of your home and it is covered with snow, please call the Fire Department at 908-820-2805.
In addition, if you have a flat roof please be mindful that approx. 18 inches of snow or more will compromise the strength of your roof. The excessive weight from snow and ice can cause your roof to collapse. If you are concerned with the safety of your roof call a professional roofer/roofing company to investigate.
