Moderate Freezing Rain Mixed With Sleet Will Continue To Make Travel Dangerous Early This Morning. Ice Accretions Rates Of Up To .10 Inches Per Hour Are Expected Trough 7 AM. Temperatures Only Will Slowly Climb Into The Upper 20S Through This Time.
Travelers Are Advised To Use Extreme Caution Traveling This Morning As Untreated Surfaces Will Be A Sheet Of Ice. Based on the temperature even treated surfaces may still contain slippery ice patches and conditions. If you must travel this morning, please leave additional time to reach your destination, increase your stopping distance, and drive with extra care. If you can delay your trip, even a few hours should make your trip less hazardous as roadway condition improve.
In Addition The Ice Accumulations combined with the Winds Picking Up To 12 To 18 Mph Will Begin the possibility of Downed Trees, Branches And Power LInes which may Cause Power Outages across the area.
The Town of North Castle EOC is open to deal with situations arising from this storm. The Town Highway Department is actively working to clear the roadways of ice for this mornings commute. When additional information is available it will be broadcast through the nixle service.
