LACrimestoppers anon. tip results in 4 arrests: West Whittier. Recovrd stolen ppty, stolen veh, gun, drugs burg tools

Deputies arrested four adults for charges involving a stolen vehicle, drugs, handgun, burglary tools and about $20,000. of stolen property Wednesday morning, after receiving an anonymous tip through the Crime Stoppers anonymous telephone information system.

At about 7:15AM, Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station West Whittier County Team-Leader Deputies Michael Ramirez and David Zarda responded to a residence in the 10400 Block of Cliota Street, Unincorporated Area of West Whittier, and conducted a probation compliance search. They were assisted by Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station Narcotics Detectives, the Pico Rivera Vandalism Enforcement Team (VET), Narco K-9, and the Whittier Community Oriented Policing System (COPS) Team.

During the compliance search, deputies contacted the suspects and determined they were in possession of approximately eight grams of methamphetamine, a handgun, a stolen vehicle, suspected burglary tools, stolen credit cards, and stolen driver licenses. Numerous electronic devices, cell phones, video game consoles, camera and computer equipment, and miscellaneous articles valuing approximately $20,000 believed to be stolen property were also recovered.

The suspects were arrested for numerous charges, including Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales, Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Stolen Property, Unlawful Taking of a Vehicle, being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, and Parole and Probation Violations.

The suspects who were arrested are: Alejandro Salmones M/38, of Whittier; Stefanie Rios F/25, of La Puente; Chasen Nino M/26, of Pico Rivera; and Anthony Velasquez, M/35, of Rosemead.

Citizens living in the area where the probation compliance search was conducted, whom were recent victims of theft or burglary, and whom believe their items were described in the recovered property portion of this press release, are encouraged to report this to detectives at Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station. Please be prepared to provide a complete description of any missing property, including serial numbers or other identifying markings.
