The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for Jefferson County until noon Friday.

The National Weather Service is predicting an increase in precipitation along with freezing temperatures for our area beginning this evening and tapering off tomorrow morning.

There is an expectation of freezing rain, sleet, and possibly snow.

There is an additional expectation that ice will accumulate on roads,bridges, and overpasses creating hazardous driving conditions.

We are recommending that citizens not attempt to drive in these conditions unless absolutely necessary. Anyone having to drive their vehicles during this time period are reminded to use extra caution.
