Windy This Afternoon And Tonight A Wind Advisory Is In Effect From Monday February 14, 2011 at 12 PM Until Tuesday February 15, 2011 at 3 AM EST
The National Weather Service In Upton Has Issued A Wind Advisory Which Is In Effect From Noon Today To 3 AM EST Tuesday.
* Locations...Northeastern New Jersey...New York City....Southern Westchester County And Long Island.
* Winds...Westerly Winds Of 15 To 25 Mph With A Gust To Around 45 Mph Early This Afternoon. Northwesterly Winds This Evening Of 20 To 30 Mph With Gusts To Around 45 Mph This Evening.
* Timing...This Afternoon And This Evening.
* Impacts...Scattered Downed Branches or Trees Are Likely During Events Of This Type. Loose Items Such As Garbage Cans Should Be Secured.
A Wind Advisory Is Issued When Sustained Winds Of 31 To 39 Mph... Or Gusts Of 46 To 57 Mph...Are Expected Or Occurring.
Winds This Strong Can Make Driving Difficult Especially For High Profile Vehicles. Use Extra Caution.
All North Castle residents should prepare for the possibility of power outages during this time period extending into the overnight and until the posted NWS expiration date and time.
Residents experienceing an interuption in electrical service should contact Con Edison Directly at 1-800 75CONED to report their outage. All effected residents should call Con Edison even if the outage was reported by their neighbor.
The North Castle Office of Emergency Management is monitoring this storm and may activate the EOC if required to deal with situations arising from it.
