On February 13, 2011 at approximately 4:00am OFC Fitzgerald of the Thurmont Police Department and several deputies from the FCSO were dispatched to respond to the area of 112 Emmitsburg Rd. in Thurmont for a domestic dispute. Upon their arrival, the officers located the suspect, Kyle D. Abramson, W/M, age 25, of Woodbine, Maryland, standing in the front yard arguing with the residents of 112 Emmitsburg Rd. Further investigation revealed that Mr. Abramson had approached a neighboring residence demanding to use their phone to call the police. When the residents denied him entry, Mr. Abramson kicked the door in and entered the residence and attempted to assault the female resident until he was persuaded to leave by the male homeowner.
After gathering this information, OFC Fitzgerald informed Mr. Abramson that he was under arrest. Mr. Abramson resisted arrest and had to be subdued by the officers. As a result of the scuffle, Mr. Abramson, OFC Fitzgerald, and a FCSO Deputy had to be examined at FMH for injuries sustained during the arrest of Mr. Abramson. All were treated and released and Mr. Abramson was transported to the Frederick County Detention Center and charged with the following: 3 cts of Burglary, 2cts of Destruction of Property, 5 cts of Second Degree Assault, Resisting Arrest, Failure to Obey Law Enforcement Officer, Disorderly Conduct, and Obstruct and Hinder a Police Officer.
