On February 8, 2011 the Thurmont Police Department received three separate reports of money, clothing, and miscellaneous items being stolen from motel rooms at the Rambler Motel. An additional report was filed in which the victim reported that their room had been broken into and money and clothing were stolen on January 28, 2011. Further investigation revealed that the suspect- Theodore Andrew Thompson, age 64, of Baltimore County, was assisting with room maintenance at the time of the thefts. Mr. Thompson was interviewed in reference to this criminal activity at which time he admitted to committing the thefts and burglary. On this date Officer Jerry Morales and OFC Testa of the Thurmont Police Department sought the assistance of the Baltimore County Police and located Mr. Thompson at an address in Baltimore County. Mr. Thompson was arrested by the Baltimore County Police and turned over to the Thurmont officers. Mr. Thompson was then transported to the Frederick County Central Booking where he was served with an arrest warrant and a criminal summons charging him with the following: 4 cts of Theft: Less $1,000, 1st Degree Burglary, and 4th Degree Burglary.
