Police are still looking for a hit and run suspect who killed a pedestrian on 10-30-10 at Victory and Van Nuys.

PRESS RELEASE
On October 30, 2010, at approximately 0540 hours, a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Van Nuys Boulevard and Victory Boulevard. An unknown type vehicle, possibly a white Ford Explorer, traveling westbound on Victory Boulevard collided with the female pedestrian, who was walking in the west cross walk of Van Nuys Boulevard. The cart that the pedestrian was pushing was dragged for several hundred feet before it separated from the Explorer. The pedestrian was forced to the ground where she later died from her injuries. The driver of the Explorer immediately fled the scene without rendering aid or identifying him/herself.
An off duty police officer blocked the victim’s path with his personal car so that the victim did not get run over again.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel. Her identity is still unknown and that aspect of the investigation is being handled by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation is continuing and Valley Traffic Detectives are searching for additional witnesses that may have observed the collision.
