The following information is offered to assist you during your evening commute through North Castle and area roadways on Monday March 07, 2011.

*** Roadway Closure ***

Residents that use Middle Patent Road to connect Route 22 and Bedford Banksville Road on their daily commute should use the alternate route of Banksville Road to Round Hill Road, as Middle Patent Road is closed from the intersection of Bedford Banksville Road to number 52 Middle Patent Road.

*** Additional Information ***

In addition to this roadway closure, motorists are advised to use caution on all town roadways, especially secondary and back roads due to flowing water runoff and partial flooding conditions from yesterdays rain.

In addition to the water conditions the flooding of the shoulder portions of the road has moved leaves, branches, sand, rocks and other debris, into the traveled portions of roadway causing a hazard as well.

All of these conditions are more difficult to see and assess in low light or dark conditions.

Finally, as the evening progresses, temperatures are expected to fall, possibly reaching the freezing area. Should this condition take place, standing water in the roadway will be prone to icing. Drivers should keep this in mind durning the late evening hours and during their morning commute

Please use caution during your commute this evening, allow some extra time to reach your destination, and remember your actions as a driver effect everyone on the roadway.
