A Flood Watch Means There Is A Potential For Flooding Based On Current Forecasts. You Should Monitor Later Forecasts And Be Alert For Possible Flood Warnings.
National Weather Service Forecast for North Castle:
Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. East wind around 7 mph.
Wednesday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 40. East wind between 9 and 15 mph.
Wednesday Night: Rain likely, mainly after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 34. East wind between 11 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Thursday: Rain. High near 45. Breezy, with a east wind between 15 and 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Thursday Night: Rain. Low around 39. Southeast wind between 11 and 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Friday: Rain likely, mainly before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 33.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 53.
Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.
The following information is offered to assist you during your commute through North Castle and area roadways during this storm event.
*** Potential Roadway Closures Based on Past Storm ***
1. Middle Patent Road from the intersection of Bedford Banksville Road to number 52 Middle Patent Road.
2. School Street From the intersection of Main Street or 128 up to Number 18 School Street
Both of these areas flooded and were closed during the last event. The potential exists or them to close again due to flooding.
*** Additional Information ***
If you come upon a roadway that is closed, please do not move police barricades or closure equipment. Mving this equipment and entering the flooded area would be extremely hazardous to you and the occupants of the vehicle. In addition moving these barricade will put other operators and persons at risk. Please use other roadways to reach you destination safely. These roadways will be re-opened as soon as they are deemed safe to travel.
In addition to this roadway closure, motorists are advised to use caution on all town roadways, especially secondary and back roads due to flowing water runoff and partial flooding conditions from yesterdays rain.
In addition to the water conditions the flooding of the shoulder portions of the road has moved leaves, branches, sand, rocks and other debris, into the traveled portions of roadway causing a hazard as well.
All of these conditions are more difficult to see and assess in low light or dark conditions.
Please use caution during your commute this evening, allow some extra time to reach your destination, and remember your actions as a driver effect everyone on the roadway.

All North Castle residents should prepare for the possibility of power outages during this time period extending into the overnight and until the posted NWS expiration date and time.
Residents experienceing an interuption in electrical service should contact Con Edison Directly at 1-800 75CONED to report their outage. All effected residents should call Con Edison even if the outage was reported by their neighbor.
The North Castle Office of Emergency Management is monitoring this event and may activate the EOC if required to deal with situations arising from it.
