WASHINGTON COAST STILL UNDER TSUNAMI ADVISORY 
Washington is still under a Tsunami Advisory. Please STAY AWAY from the beaches and harbor areas!! Remain in a safe area until told it is safe to return to your home by an official of your jurisdiction!
Since late evening on March 10, Clallam County has been under a tsunami ADVISORY due to the 8.9 magnitude earthquake occurring near Honshu, Japan yesterday.
Tsunami advisories mean that a tsunami capable of producing strong currents or waves dangerous to persons in or very near the water is expected. Significant widespread inundation is not expected for areas under an advisory.
Currents may be hazardous to swimmers, boats and coastal structures and may continue for several hours after the initial wave arrival.
The first wave arrived this morning just after 7 a.m. Wave height at Neah Bay has been reported at 1.3 feet and 1.7 feet at LaPush. No reports of damage to persons or property have been reported. We continue to monitor the situation and will update this message as more information becomes available.
