Tustin Police Officers stopped two adult males in the early morning hours of 3-18-11, riding bicycles near the Tustin Sports Park. One subject had a backpack containing stolen electronics and cameras and other miscellaneous items. The subjects were arrested at the location for residential burglary and theft from vehicles. They were both later booked at the Orange County Jail.

Detectives were able to identify a number of items in their possession as being stolen from unlocked vehicles and open garages in the area. A Search Warrant was served on a storage locker belonging to one of the suspects and more stolen property was located. One item of stolen property was a GPS unit belonging to a Mercedes which was stolen days earlier. The Mercedes was a 1998 ML 320 SUV License Number 3WGW205 and has not been located.

The Tustin Police Department is seeking additional information and victims in this case. There are many items of suspected stolen property that have not yet been claimed by the rightful owners.

Basic Prevention Policy

* Always roll up your windows and lock the car, even if it's in front of your home.

* Never leave valuables in plain view, even if your car is locked. It is best to remove valuables from your vehicle.

* Carry the registration and insurance card with you. Do not leave personal identification documents or credit cards in your vehicle.

* Never leave an unattended garage door open.

These are some basic reminders to keep in mind to reduce your chances of becoming a victim of a crime.
