Overnight Traffic Delay Planned for I-5 on March 27 in Pacoima
San Fernando Valley — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in cooperation with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will implement a traffic break in both directions of the Golden State Freeway (I-5) at Branford Street on Sunday, March 27. Motorists traveling between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. may be delayed for up to 10 minutes while crews remove electrical wiring. The work is part of a $140-million improvement project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV or carpool) lanes and a direct HOV lane connector at the I-5/SR-170 interchange. This closure is subject to change.
Work began in August 2010 and is on track to wrap up in the spring of 2013. Caltrans thanks motorists for their patience and understanding during construction.
