Nash County Dept of Social Services wants us to remind you that April is Child Abuse Awareness Month.

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month

On April 1st, the Child Protective Services and Prevention Units of Nash County Social Services will participate with Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina by planting a Pin Wheel Garden in memory of the children who have lost their lives due to abuse and neglect in the last year in North Carolina. We will also place angels on a Dogwood tree planted a few years ago in memory of children of abuse and neglect.
Children from a local Day Care will join the social workers in promoting “The Power of Play”, which is the Theme of this year’s Child Abuse Awareness Month. Prevent Child Abuse NC encourages us to “Enter a child’s world and discover who they are. Build bonds that last a lifetime, and help them reach their full potential.”

These events will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Daycare entrance to the Claude Mayo, Jr. Administration Building. Please join us.

Visit www.preventchildabusenc.org to learn more about how to make play a part of every day.
