Full Notification

At approximately 0943 this morning a Swissvale Department of Public Works truck came upon an armed robbery in progress on Denniston Ave in front of Corrado’s Fruit Market. The Public Works employees immediately notified Swissvale Police Department. Officers responded in less than a minute and gave chase to the two male actors for several blocks. Officers from Swissvale, Rankin and Edgewood were able to apprehend both males. Officers conducted an extensive search of the area and were able to locate the victim’s stolen items as well as the firearm used in the commission of the robbery.
