Alhambra residents are asked to be alert and aware of street robberies occurring in residential neighborhoods.
Detectives of the Alhambra Police Department are aggressively investigating a series of street robberies taking place throughout the city. At this time, investigators have few leads and information other than the robberies are occurring during the night by a male armed with a handgun and seen leaving the crime scenes in an older model dark color SUV. Investigators believe another subject may be the “get away” driver.
The suspect(s) is targeting unsuspecting victims parking their vehicles in their driveways and taking their purses and wallets. Police advise residents to be cognizant of their surroundings when driving home and to report any suspicious activity immediately to police.
Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance with any information that may lead to the identification of the suspect(s) and the vehicle. Anyone witnessing these robberies is encouraged to come forward and contact the police department - all information will be kept anonymous and confidential.
Anyone with information concerning these crimes is asked to call the Alhambra Police Department – Robbery/Homicide Detective Debbie Gomez at (626) 308-4844 or the Investigations Information Line (626) 570-5136
