The Raritan Township Police Department has an important message for the community!

Wednesday, April 06, 2011 @ approximately 3:10 PM – Police received a report from a concerned resident regarding an apparent fraudulent telephone solicitation. The resident reported that a few months ago he received several telephone calls from a male caller advising that he could purchase any type of medication over the phone, which would be delivered to his house, providing that he use a credit card for payment. The caller specifically mentioned two controlled dangerous substances that are available only by prescription, Oxycontin and Percocet. The resident further reported that the calls eventually stopped, but he did receive another one with the same sales pitch recently. The Raritan Township Police Department advises all residents to be wary of any random solicitations and refrain from providing their credit card information via e-mail, mail or telephone, unless they are certain they are dealing with a credible receiver of payment.
