NCSO names it's 'Employee of the Year'; Lieutenant Eddie Moore of the Staff Services Division. 
During this past week at Sheriff Jenkins' Annual Meet-n-Greet function, the Nash County Sheriff's Office named it's "Employee of the Year". The award was decided by votes cast by the other 134 employees of the Sheriff's Office. The award was presented by Sheriff Jenkins to Lieutenant Eddie Moore, who oversees the Staff Services Division. Lt. Moore has been employed with the Sheriff's Office since 2001.
The award presented is named the "Joe Mercer Employee of the Year Award". Joe Mercer was employed by the Sheriff's Office as a Deputy from 1975 until his retirement in 2000 and was well-known and respected in the community. He was most notably known for his years of service as a School Resource Officer at Northern Nash High School. Joe Mercer passed away in 2001. During the presentation, members of Joe Mercers family were in attendance.
The Sheriff's Office would again like to congratulate Lieutenant Moore on his achievement.
