Severe weather threatens our area on Saturday; Take precautions.
Attached is the latest weather briefing from the National Weather Service for tomorrow, Saturday, April 16, 2011. As stated below, there is a risk of widespread damage and chance of tornadoes. Please be aware of activities you may have planned for tomorrow and how they may be disrupted.
Remember...to be prepared, you need to plan now! Below are a few safety items to consider:
1. Designate a shelter in your home. Basements or storm cellars are the safest. If not available, find an interior room or hallway on the ground floor away from doors and windows.
2. If you live in a mobile home, find a sturdy building nearby where you can seek shelter.
3. Monitor television and/or radio for up-to-date information.
4. If outside when severe weather threatens, seek a low lying area or ditch and lie flat and cover your head. Do not seek shelter under bridges or overpasses.
5. Access your Disaster Supply Kit to ensure it is stocked and ready if needed. If you do not have one, please visit the following links on information on what to include: http://www.fema.gov/areyouready/assemble_disaster_supplies_kit.shtm
