Nixle service ends 4-29-11. Not our choice, but service will become a paid service that the City cannot afford 
The Ripon Police Department has been informed that the Nixle service that we have just begun for residents of Ripon is migrating to a pay service, which is frankly much more than we can afford during these times of limited revenues. All though we have been impressed with the functionality of Nixle, we cannot justify the expense at this time.
Rest assured that we will look at other alternatives that the internet provides including Blogs, our Webpage, Twitter and other media and will advise the public when we have come up with an alternative.
In the meantime feel free to email me at [email protected] with ideas or if you would like to be added to an email data base for future notifications. Thanks for your understanding and our apologies for the quick demise of our Nixle notification system. We will continue to use the system until it ends on April 29, 2011.
