The NWS Severe Storm Center in Norman,OK has issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 4pm today April 28, 2011.

This storm system is connected with the sytem that produced very severe weather across the South East United States yesterday. This severe weather included numerous large tornados.

If you are encounter severe weather or thunderstorms seek shelter indoors immediately. If at all possilbe within an inside room of the building. Remain indoors until the storm passes. Remember if you can hear thunder you are close enough to the storm to be struck by lightning.

If you are in your vehicle avoid areas with large trees and do not drive through deep standing water in the street.

All North Castle residents should prepare for the possibility of power outages during this time period extending into the overnight and until the posted NWS expiration date and time.

Residents experienceing an interuption in electrical service should contact Con Edison Directly at 1-800 75CONED to report their outage. All effected residents should call Con Edison even if the outage was reported by their neighbor.

The North Castle Office of Emergency Management is monitoring this high wind event and may activate the EOC if required to deal with situations arising from it. Additional information regarding incidents arising from this event will be sent when available through nixle.
