Officials will be conducting initial damage assessments Tuesday, May 10th and Wednesday, May 11th of this week. This process will determine the amount of damage in Jackson County due to flooding. The information obtained will be forwarded to the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) to support Illinois request for federal assistance. If this request is approved, the federal assistance provided will help Jackson County in its efforts to recover from this disaster.
